![]() Practice TipsOne thing I have done that has drastically enhanced my Chipping and Pitching is practice in the back yard with a 5 gallon bucket. I will normally start at 10-15ft and throw 100 balls at the bucket. The 1st time I did that I got 4 out of 100 in the bucket. Immediately I routinely get 65-70 in the bucket @ 15ft. I will go back from there to 30ft and 60ft. In the finish it has truly helped my accuracy across the greens. Immediately I figure out where I would like to land my ball on the green and "place it in the bucket"Anybody else do this? They tend to be presented as if they apply to everybody. For example the putting tip to move the hands handle and club head together applies to straight back and through putters. If you use a heel shafted, especially blade putter and take the putter inside to square I do not feel this applies, the club head moves most farther than the hands. Like him or not guys like Hardy who at least attempt to define who certain techniques apply to are rare. The techniques ought to always have a context for what golfer or swing type they apply to. When I was a new golfer and did not understand this I feel these techniques wasted many time and slowed my progress. Adding to new golfers frustration is the last thing we need. If Mags cannot do this then they ought to stick to features on golfers, tournaments and equipment.Read more on this topic Driving Range TipsLately I've discovered myself truly rushing while at the driving range, I'll start out hitting the ball very consistant and solid and by the finish of the session I am going through balls very rapidly.
