![]() Swing SpeedAt the age of 27, I adore that feeling when you hit a solid shot with a complete swing, however as I am discovering the subtle nuances of the benefits of having a smooth swing I am getting to the point where the majority of my "full"' shots are at 75% of power. Not just are my shots becoming more consistent, however I am just giving up about 5-10 yards, which seems menial compared to the consistency I get from a 3/4 swing.A bit of background on my game is that I'm very new to the game. I began fooling around at the driving range during October of a year ago and played my first round with a cheap starter set in early November. I got definitely hooked with golf and it is definitely a sport that's different especially in terms of mental and psychological battles. So my question is how much power/umph do you swing your clubs with and would how long did it take you to realize that accuracy and consistent play was far more essential than hitting that one deliciously looking solid, full-powered shot? Read more on this topic Swing Speed: Do You Have One or Several???I am interested to know:Do you strive for and use one consistant swing speed using your driver/etc. . . or Do you've several speeds that you use . . . and What is your reason for just using one or using several? I have always used one swing speed, however have been thinking about trying 2 speeds, so today with the Speed Stick (which is very consistent gauge) I worked on it and found that I could use 2 speeds . . . 100mph and 110mph. The 100 is with no a wrist cock and the club head does not reach parallel and the 110 uses a complete wrist cock with club head to parallel. It allowed me to very very consistent. The lack of a wrist cock took precisely 10mph off my swing. I am a little unsure how much distance differential this brings . . . 110mph would compress distance balls most superior than 100mph so the distance can be around 20-30yds. The idea is 100mpg is for a drive of 230 and 110mph is for a drive of 250-60. Usually a fairway will hold a drive of 230 however a lot target courses have trouble past this yardage. I do not use a 3W as I prefer to use a hybrid 17* off the fairways and carry an additional wedge, so I must have a 230 shot in the bag. It'll be interesting to attempt making use of this consistently on the course. Read more on this topic Yardage for a 95 mph swing speedHave you measured your swing speed?
