Read more on this topic Any Swing Advice?Well, I made a decision to see what my swing looked like at this point, and so I finished up getting a reduced quality video (sorry, cell phone camera was all I had obtainable at the time). Anyway, I guess as a number of background I picked up the game around Can, had to pretty much stop entirely for several months during the summer for school and the time for it has been sort of off and on since August. I am a lefty however for whatever reason I feel more comfortable swinging right handed. I feel like I am retarded with a left handed club in my hand. Unfortunately it's been pretty cold recently and I consistantly forget to take any video when I do manage to go to the range so all I've at the moment is a number of short clips indoors. I am about to start working with a pro in January to fix all of my flaws however wanted to gain an idea from a number of individuals here what I ought to work on in the mean time. The weather is supposed to warm up following week for a little and I will attempt to gain a number of new video with an actual camcorder if it does, however for the moment this is all I've. Anyway, I am absolutely certain the pro will rip my swing to shreds once I get there so go ahead and allow me have it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwG3rnlxEfI The link works on my computers, uncertain why the youtube tags do not work. I've been lurking around these forums for a bit and wondered if you guys would assist me out with my swing and maybe a number of techniques to assist with my consistency. My club flight is out to in for certain and my divots tell the story and I'm able to't truly figure out the way to fix it with no creating my self fell awkward with my swing. My ball flight the majority of the time is a slice or a weak push, I seem to have an issue hitting the ball fat alot and hardly make a proper divot in front of the ball. I tried the stack n tilt for a while and decided that I'd stick with a traditional swing and attempt to go between a 2 plane and a 1 plane, currently I've been studying Hogans teachings and have been attempting to stay on plane. Do you guys have any advice for me?Here is two vids of my stroke, excuse the landscape please! http://s29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...t=0c6d93e0.pbr http://s29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...t=MVI_0972.flv Thank you for the assist/suggestions, huK- Read more on this topic swing advice for a southpaw playing right handedHey folks,I am new around here. I am generally a lurker...however recent events have convinced me to post this question to see what you guys feel on the subject. I appologize in advance for a what I believe shall be a long post....hopefully the majority of you guys wont mind the read. I have been playing for about 10 years immediately. I am left handed, however play right handed. I did this for the easy reason that the clubs I had at my disposal at the time, were righty clubs. Im also a guitar player that plays righty and the benefits for guitarists that play righty over lefty are vast (more instruments to chose from, etc). So I assumed, at the time, that similar advantages to right handed golfers existed. Back in the winter I created a resolution...and over the past 6 months, I have been desperately making an effort to get my game out of the 90s and into the 80s. Ive gone through a series of lessons, several minor equipment changes and even lost a whole bunch of weight. All aimed in a number of way, to getting my game out of the basement. The lessons came to a close about a few weeks ago....The one improvement I seem to have created, is that I have boosted my swing speed a great bit. I seem to be clearing my hips better...this boost in swing speed, has resulted in a small number of things...Off the tee, I am alot longer. Unfortunately, my acuracy has gotten awful. simply awful...Any given tee shot shall be a hard slice or hard hook. 30% of my shots are finding the fairway. The remainder of them are so far to the left or right that I am losing strokes only getting back to the short grass. I recently came back from a trip to Myrtle Beach amongst loved ones and another family. The other father and I got out for 63 holes over the course of the trip. He plays left-handed. Throughout the trip, I struggled with my game....same scenario as mentioned above. The other guy (a left handed player), after hearing that I'm a lefty that plays righty...imediately began suggesting to me throughout the trip that I think about creating the switch....He played for 10 years as a right handed player prior to switching to left handed...and he feels it was the greatest move for him. What got me thinking was his assertion that he has more control, since his left arm is immediately the trailing arm (which he feels controls the swing). He also feels he has more power (not that it's that much of a concern for me) and his dominant left eye has less trouble on the golf course. I swung a bat from the left side of the plate in school and locate that to be my natural swinging side...although these days, swinging a golf club lefty is awkward (although swinging a bat feels natural). The large questions I've are the following: Will I see more control if I switch to leftie? Is it a disadvantage having the trailing arm in a golf swing be the weaker arm? I seem to be proved that having my dominant eye low (i.e. setup leftie) might assist with alignment both on the tee/fairway...and on the greens. am I wrong? Has anybody made this switch successfully? I am prepared to take the down time/starting over that this switch would result in...I dont mind spending several months or half a year discovering the golf swing from the other side, if it is certain to result in an ultimately improvement...however I am not yet sold it would work. Any advice is welcome! Thank you guys! -Frank Read more on this topic Other Golf Related Topics
