What's the feedback that let's you understand what your swing is doing? It only seems like you may well flail away at will however not gain the ability to tell what your swing is essentially doing. Kinda.I have been attempting to stay more centered over the ball. I once would sway off the ball rather a bit. I am also trying to obtain a bit more power in my swing and to hit the ball a tad lower - mostly doing both by getting the shaft leaning forward at impact a bit more. I locate myself currently hitting the ball pretty solidly, and my drivers and long clubs are going along pretty well, however my short irons are blade city and my misses with any club are large cuts. I have gotta drop down into the slot a bit more, and begin my downswing with my legs and hips a bit more than I'm currently doing. In the race between my arms and lower body, my arms are winning pretty frequently. Anybody been where I am at? What drills or swing thoughts did you use? One that began to work late in today's quick nine holes was getting my right shoulder driving down and under instead of around. Read more on this topic Tips for regaining a consistent swingThis is my first post here, and I need to let you know that looking at the handicaps you guys carry I'm a little intimidated to even pose my question! I recently picked up the sticks again after a 12-13 yr hiatus. I was never good, however I hit the ball pretty well and shot in the mid to high 80s. I'm actually pretty happy that I'm still able to hit the ball pretty well, only not often enough! As is usually the case I do better amongst shorter irons and yet have a bit of a brief game. Hideous or non-existent shots with longer clubs are keeping me close to 100 than 90.I guess it gets down to focus. I know what steps to take and I know the way to do it. Too often it seems like I only have a concentration lapse at the last immediate, and there go the gorilla arms, not waiting for the hips. Any suggestions for maintaining that focus would be appreciated. Oh, I've been going to the range and do reasonably well there. It's when I step up to the ball for true that things can go south. Maybe I only must stick with not a thing longer than a 5 iron until I get back in the groove. I've constantly had self-belief in 4-5 and shorter. When struggling I once would play a round with 5-iron and putter to take away temptation. Thank you, Raymond Read more on this topic Other Golf Related Topics
