Critique Brizzle's Swing

One of the kids on my golf team... I recorded his swing with my digital (still) camera, a Canon SD-550. Turns out, as I have mentioned, it takes a number of pretty nifty 320 x 240 videos at 60 frames a second.

Well, here are four swings from 2 angles on Jake. Critiques welcome! I will print the thread and pass it along to Jake:

What's your favorite/most useful swing drill?

The title says it all - I would love to hear your most successful swing drill(s). Here one to begin:

Problem: a back swing that is too flat. For me this was from flipping my hands right at the take away and pulling the club back way too much inside.

The drill: place your butt against a wall (I used a stone wall outside our house and an aged 7 iron) and take your normal back swing. SMACK (hence the need for an aged club). Practice taking the club straight back until your do not hit the wall.

I found that standing about 1-2" from the wall and creating about a 1/2 speed backswing worked good. I did this one about 1500 times and it has entirely fixed my swing plane difficulties. I think the 1/2 speed motion also helped my tempo (which is normally too quick).

natural ability = no idea about swing mechanics

ok so I'll attempt to make this log appear as an honest take on my game, I began playing golf 2.5 years ago for the reason that my mom bought me a collection of irons for the reason that she felt golf was a great business game (she bought them with no my knowlegde as I was away in college). I had never even though of playing golf and suddenly I became addicted...

in 2.5 years I've blown through 3 sets of irons, couple drivers...etc etc etc

I'm in no way a sweeper, I am compared to stadler as I'm 5'7 and 220lbs however very athletic... I think my swing is very steep, I take massive divots however do not hit shots heavy for the reason that I load the club pretty heavily... is this bad?

my divots are nearly 6 inches long and close to 1/2inch deep... I only hit the ball, no idea if this is bad?
