my golf swing horror

today i took a peek at my swing on a video camera. i thought my swing was alright, i was hitting it ok, not good however not bad either and i got several lessons to see if there was a dilemma. man, was i in for a shock. it was the worst swing i had ever seen. i dont have the video, however i'll descibe it as greatest i'm able to. the backswing was great, taking the club back on plane, however as i began the downswing, i'd a sort of loop in my swing, sort of like jim furyk, however way more inside, and i did not come back on plane, instead, carrying on even more inside and at the point where i hit the ball, the club was nearly parallel to the ground, and i lost about a foot in height. it looked crazy, and he told me to swing outside to in as i come down to attempt and receive it a bit more on plane, however it wasnt working. theres not a thing worse than knowing what is wrong, however not being able to fix it (ive had several lessons). anybody have any tips on how to fix a swing that's too far inside (just on downswing)
thanks very much for any assist in advance

Front heel at the top of the swing...

I have been working on a number of changes with my pro this winter, one of the issues I had last season was not getting to my left side at the top (I am left-handed), and then having overly quick hips that got me stuck inside coming back down.

One of the drills he gave me to gain over to the left was to setup next to my couch and attempt to gain my hip over to it on the way back, and then to attempt to maintain it there as I come down as an exaggeration. This has helped a ton, I have gotten much closer to on plane and much steeper which was another goal for the reason that I was WAY too flat which caused me to bottom out prior to the ball at times.

So...

After conducting this couch drill about 47 thousand times , I noticed that my right heel is immediately lifting at the peak of my backswing, not much, about half an inch at the the majority of. My head is staying on the ball, it's not dipping, and my club is precisely where I desire it at the top (so maybe it's a dumb question), however is it fundamentally unsound to have that heel lift?

My Momentus Swing Trainer Experience

I sought to start this to document my progress. Quick background: I am self-taught and have full self-belief in my swing, inasmuchas I am athletic, pretty strong and have constantly had very good rhythm. Over the previous year or 2, I have made a number of significant strides in my own understanding of the way to strike the ball much better. This past year was the 1st time I in fact tracked my index, and I also played my greatest golf on the entire (lowest raw score ever of 76 and a couple other rounds sub-80; lowest differential was a 6.4). I in fact paid very little attention to my swing mechanics this year, focusing more on course management and mental approach.

Consequencely,, however, my swing did get a bit "loose" toward the finish of the year. I felt like I only needed something to re-instill the basics also including build strength, so I bought the Momentus Swing Trainer (it is a weighted, shortened iron, with teaching grip). I watched the DVD and they only recommend three basic drills: 1) Swing to Top, 2) Weight Shift, and 3) Impact position (techincally, #4 is Full Swing). I think this is only the thing I will should get me back in the proper positions, with no getting truly technical, and building up the golf muscles.

I also purchased that Rick Smith Teaching Glove (amongst hinge across the back of the wrist), as "cupping" my wrist at the top is most liklely my biggest flaw. I thought this would be a great add-on to the Momentus. I've decided to be very diligent in doing about 15-20 swings at least once one day in every of the drills. Being in the Northeast, I most likely will not play much at all in the following 3-4 months, so I will be looking ahead to the outcomes in getting a number of the failing areas of my swing back on track, and truly priming me for following season.
