![]() Transition Move - Swing Path ProblemHi, first true post so simply be gentle![]() I've been struggling with a fade/slice which I believe is caused by an out to in swing path. I've looked at in a guide called 'Swing Similar To A Pro' about a 'transition move' which is a lateral move towards the target as your weight shifts to the left at the start of the downswing. At the peak of the backswing the arms drop prior to coming through on an inside path. I believe my swing path is generally out to in, my divots point left, and the sole of my woods from tee shots show marks from the tee which indicate out to in. Has anybody had experience of this publication, or or this transition move and ought to I work on attempting to incorporate this into my swing, or are there a number of other elements I ought to be looking at to boost my swing path. Also any advice on this subject would be appreciated. I've had several lessons however so far have just covered prepare, tempo, alignment etc. Any comments or advice appreciated Cheers Ste Read more on this topic Different swings for different clubs?Okay okay sorry if this is lame however this has been eating at me.If I'm hitting woods I swing most lower like Zach Johnson on his take away. When I'm hitting irons I tend to go more up right. Also my grip changes on both woods to irons. Woods....... I've a neutral grip flat wrist and a lower takeaway. I make solid impact and hit them straight and fairly far. 7 wood 220 3 wood 235 or so. Irons......... I've a more up and down swing. I take the club up more and roll my wrist outward bowing my wrist not cupping. I was told I hit a trap draw. Anyway If I attempt to interchange these swings it is a disaster. Low take away with a reduced back swing amongst woods and up and down swing with my irons. Ahhhhhh this game! Is this common? Is this normal? Is this weird? Am I wacked? Read more on this topic On "Taking your Practice Swing to the Ball"I went through an interesting experience a year or so back. I only happened to take a close look at my practice swing in video. Low and behold virtually all the swing faults that I had been working on were gone! My immediate reaction was "all I need to do is to carry out that swing in front of a golf ball". I was expecting this to take a week or so of serious work.3 months later the project was an entire, 100 percent failure. I ultimately came to the conclusion that my practice swing bears no more relationship to my true swing than does Tiger Woods' practice swing bear any relationship to MY true swing. However I attempted everything I could think of (eyes closed, only attempt to carry out it, do not attempt to carry out it, attempt not to attempt, attempt to not attempt, hit whiffle balls and ultimately tennis balls, my "walk-around drill", etc). Has someone else out there tried to specifically "take the practice swing that you do with no thinking" and hit a golf ball with it? I have adjusted to the truth that I can't do that, however wonder about any other experiences out there. Thank you. dave ps. The the majority of interesting failure here was my "walk-around drill". This is greatest done with a hybrid off the mats. You put a golf ball down somewhere and only literally walk across the mat taking simple/continuous practice swings and only let one of them "only happen" to be at the ball. I truly expected this approach to work - nope. Read more on this topic Other Golf Related Topics
