![]() Going after a shot...I was at the range the other night and I tried to "get after a shot" and for a number of reason when I did this I seemed to hit the ball shorter. Is there any logical reason behind this? Could it be that I am attempting to power my swing and actually slowing down my club head speed? I was also hitting a 5 to 10 yard fade with each club and i have never done this prior to so if anybody has any pointers for me on either of these issues it would be greatly appreciated.ZEBRA also how do individuals get the logos in their signatures? By logos I mean the Titleist and TaylorMade and all the others. Read more on this topic Current hurdle: 2nd shot/approach shotHey guys,Firstly, thank you for all the advice on my previous issues. My game has come a long way and I have managed to break 100. I played 18 yesterday amongst sole intent to solve what was my following focus point. It has become my approach shot to the green which is bringing me down. During the round, my drives were fine (averaging at 220 yards) and the majority of them were fairways/light roughs. My putts were fine, averaging to precisely 2 putts per hole. Where I was losing a stroke or 2 was my shot TO the green--my long irons to be exact. Whenever I'd be on a par 4...my driver would land me about 160-200yds from the green...at this point I would take out my 3-5 irons. The dilemma is, I either hit it too thin (blading it practically) which does not take the ball as far as I desire or I hit it too fat which takes a large divot and hooks the ball like crazy. Consequencely,, I finish up having to carry out a tiny short pitch with my 58* which ends up costing me a stroke per hole. At this point I am not concerned about my distance with my irons...I am concerned regarding the accuracy. I have hit approach shots (170yd approach shot with a 3-iron) going the ideal distance however landing in the rough about 1-3 yards from the fringe. I am about to attempt and take a camera with me to the range next time I go (if I'm able to locate a camera) to tape my swing however I was wandering if there were any preliminary steps I could take to obtain a nice clean iron shot which goes relatively straight (I am after that 'light brush' of the grass swing). This way I'm able to--actually--cut down my score by 16-20 strokes. Thank you in advance, -N Read more on this topic Punch Shots and El HoseloOK all, what does it sound like I am doing wrong? ...Lately, I have been sh*nking a bunch of punch shots. Full shots aren't a dilemma, however 4 times over the past 2 rounds I have hit a sideways ball off the hosel (once nearly beaning a nice lady in a cart that I figured was WAY out of my line of play). What is your greatest tip? I must straighten this out, asap. Thank you! Read more on this topic Other Golf Related Topics
