![]() The Best Grip?In previous time I've primarily used an interlocking grip. However, I've been experimenting with different grips during the previous few weeks and have found that the so called "baseball grip" allows me to release the club more consistently giving an improved contact amongst golf ball. This has enabled me to hit the ball longer with no any additional effort. Anybody else had similar experiences?Read more on this topic Describe Your Putter GripI am studying Stan Utley's "The Art of Putting" immediately and he recommends a reverse overlap grip. I have always used a standard interlocking grip - no different grip I use on my driver and each other club. I think part of the reason can be my pinky fingers (see lower down). When I attempt to carry out a standard reverse overlap, my right pinky finger wants to lay more on top of my right ring finger than on the grip of the putter. It's uncomfortable and awkwrad. A reverse overlap cures that for me. My thumbs still point straight down the shaft, and I even now grip the club very much in the finger techniques. I have never had difficulties being too wristy (or wristy at all), and I've a great feel for distance on putts of any length. It goes for me. ![]() My pinky fingers are permanently "bent." They're this way for the reason that the second bone in my pinky fingers isn't rather fully formed (nor will it ever be). For the reason that of this, the last little bone in my pinky fingers "leans" to the side. I am only curious how other individuals grip the putter. Describe your putting grip. Read more on this topic Grip StyleI have been recently having tons of trouble with my grip (the traditional style - left over right). I have heard from several individuals about a grip called 'the lock' or similar, however none are truly sure how it looks or works. Only wondering if anybody has a number of images of this and a number of advantages/disadvantages?Thanks Read more on this topic Grip ProblemI use an overlapping grip.In so doing, the bottom side of the third finger of my right hand rests on the top side of the 1st finger of the left hand. Obviously. That is the nature of the overlapping grip. My difficulty is the the top knuckle of my right hand finger and the bottom knuckle of my left hand finger are being rubbed raw where my hands meet. I'd not think this would be from excessive grip pressure. Pressure would seem to be applied by the inside of the fingers that truly make contact amongst club. However I could be wrong. In any event, my hands hurt. Even with tape and cotton pads, I just get about one round of 18 in per weekend. I spend the remainder of the week letting my knuckles heal. That ain't enough golf! Has someone else ever had this dilemma or corrected it in a student? Thank you! Read more on this topic Other Golf Related Topics
