Read more on this topic What percentage of your "golf" time is practice?I am only wondering how much we all dedicate our time to practicing in a normal week...and warming up prior to rounds does not count.![]() I most likely spend about 50%, maybe a bit more, of my time on the range or putting. I normally get at least a great 4-5 hours a week in practice and do not play more than on a weekly basis. It is a bit more cost successful and it keeps my game as sharp as it needs to be... I’m pretty new here so I do not expect anybody to know me however I’m in a sort of a “golf funk” immediately. My index is 3.2 which to me is somewhat misleading given my take on the general population’s view of what a 3.2 ought to consist of (you know, always shooting par and whatnot . While I've been playing golf since 7 years of age (27 years), I've gone through periods of drought where I can have just played 6 to 8 times a year, mainly through college and when my kids were truly small. I've immediately gotten to a point where I've been able to join a country club and play once or twice a week and maybe hit balls or practice putting on a weekly basis. I've moments where I play truly well and can shoot around par however I also throw in the occasional 85 or so. I feel as though I shouldn’t shoot above 80 on the majority of courses, primarily for the reason that I think about myself a thinker on the course, know rather a bit regarding the swing and game, and am capable of the majority of shots required however the majority of my playing partners have this “image” built up in their minds that I’m this scratch golfer and act like they’re attending my funeral when I shoot one of these “balloon” rounds. This only adds to the image in my head that something is very wrong and basically gets me thinking that I’m not where I ought to be. Logic says that if I'm able to just play on a weekly basis and practice on a weekly basis then I most likely should've lower expectations. If that's the case then I guess I need to accept it however the competitive side of me won’t enable this so I ask anybody, prepared to contribute, for thoughts, ideas and maybe several words of encouragement.Thank you, Matt Read more on this topic Is my golf pro correct?Hi all,I'd a golf lesson the other day from my local pro. The dilemma i had was hitting the golf ball thin. He gave me a drill which is to hit the ball as low as likely from a normal setup position, not with ball back however up in my stance. He didnt truly explain why this would enhance my swing, does anybody have any idea why this drill would stop somebody hitting thin shots? Read more on this topic Other Golf Related Topics
