I tried a number of out tonight and I think if place together in a great system it can assist my game and flexibility. Other than walking the course I truly get no Exercise. Sad for the reason that I once would be so active....darn work getting in the way!I found this link http://golf.about.com/od/golftips/a/techniques_healthcare.htm wadda ya think? Read more on this topic Your Golf Plateaus/History?The interesting "Press" thread initiated by Lbob made me consider my own plateauing in golf knowledge over time. I'm able to't say I've any definite memories for the majority of my plateaus or what made me step up to the following one however I figured if we all tried to consider our "Plateau History" / Hcp development others might gain the ability to spot patterns, and be taught from or comment on them. It need not be very detailed; only attempt to jot down what you remember... :)So here are my Hcp Plateaus / Golf history: Age: 7-10, Hcp: None, Average Rounds/year: 0, Got a childs 5 Iron from grandpa and played with it around our house Got pretty great at shooting at specific goals however do not remember much else Age: 17-18, Hcp: 36-27, Avg R/y: 25, Began playing golf for true One or 2 lessons then got my official handicap Played most on the course and rather quickly improved to below 30 Major cause of improvement most likely that I began mainly 2-putting, prior to that there could be both 3 and 4-putts Problem was definetely consistency from the tee, spread drives and even irons all around the place and the rest sort of followed from that (ie difficulties lead to more difficulties...) Stood at 27 for quite a number of time Got myself a new collection of clubs, previously used very cheap ones which actually added to my inconsistency Age: 19-22, 27-21, Avg R/y: 30, Began participating in a small number of tournaments Improved most in the iron play from tees, much better at the par 3's Began with more match play, helped most since there were more and shorter-term goals that were more in reach (win this hole, then the following) instead of the entire-round goal of stroke play, I am an "eager" sort of personality so short-term goals and deadlines are more my cup of tea ;) Made my first pars and birdies, that was a true self-belief builder Age: 22-26, Hcp: 21-15, Rounds/year: 10, Played less and less for each year, mostly since student years were replaced by more and more work-like conditions ;) Tried to reduce amount of "overswing" => better consistency Better iron play from tee began to carry over to fairway shots Also a bit longer in all irons Began ditching the woods and driver, was way too inconsistent with them, just Irons from tees and fairways helped reduce number of "catastrophe holes" and thus improve scores Age: 27-33, did not play! Age: 33-34, Hcp: 20-14, Rounds/year: 20, Moved and immediately lives in local golf mecca (6 clubs in under 16 kilometers), and children immediately older, could not assist however start playing again :) Was reset to Hcp 20 by new club Bought modern driver, much better consistency than 1990's Taylor Made driver, additional length and better consistency from tee lead to hcp improvement Began focusing on "short game", a lot lot more up&downs (chip+1putt or pitch+1putt) Practice the "short game" for the original time in my life, much better putt length, truly tries to not be "short and below" the hole Consistently makes 5-9 pars per round and something like 0.2-0.3 birdies per round however even now have several catastrophe holes which increases score Self-belief builder: *Truly* close to Hole-in-one at three occasions Realised I've pretty long hands however standard grips => tendency to draw or hook effortlessly, immediately 2 layers of tape on driver and woods which helps most Plans for the future: Preparing to purchase new collection of irons which are better fit to my length (6'3") and hand size, hoping which could take me further Preparing to play more, children growing ought to provide more time for golf! ;) Golf travels to lengthen season (we've basically a 5-7 month season in Sweden => too little time for golf )It feels like I am on a plateau immediately again. At my greatest I seem to play at the level of a high single digit hcp (around 10-12 over par) however I'm able to't keep it up for multiple rounds in a row. Any hints on what made you press and go further from around a 13-16 level plateau would be much appreciated... ;) Sorry if this is too long / uninteresting. Read more on this topic Golf Injury?I truly have no idea what forum to place this in, so it's going here. The previous few weeks, whenever I get out to the range prior to a round, my left wrist has been truly sore however just in 1 specific spot... palm face down, on the left side of the wrist. I do not have any idea what could have caused it, and while it is annoying for the reason that it keeps coming back at the start of each round, I eventually either forget about it or it stops hurting (presumably for the reason that I have stretched it out). The single thing I'm able to think of is that I strained a ligament or something. Anybody have any thoughts? Read more on this topic Other Golf Related Topics
