![]() Par 3sIn Golf magazine, Retief Goosen did an editorial on the way to be more sucessful on par 3s. One thing he said was to tee the ball up about half way up the face thus hitting a more pure shot and not making a divot. This technique seems unorthodox, and seems that you would must sweep instead of hitting down on the ball. I've constantly put my tee all the way in the ground, amongst ball maybe being a 1/4 of an inch off the ground, and yet making a divot. That has worked fine so far, however next time I'm at the range I will attempt this approach to see if it goes better. Does someone else do this? I haven't ever heard about this prior to, and I consistantly see a bunch of divot marks at the tee boxes on par 3s. Read more on this topic Best book on course management?Howdy all. I have lost several yards with my mid irons however the ball is straight versus a strong pull. I have noticed that my clubs (fitted Callaway X18s) are pretty forgiving. I'm able to tell the obvious mishits -- thin, fat, hosel, etc. however it's more difficult to distinguish slightly on toe or heel versus sweetspot. This is good during a round however I was wondering if I ought to add a blade 5i for practice sake to gain more accurate feedback on my swing.Has anybody done this, who plays with game improvement clubs, and did it assist?
