On the Hosel?

I went to the range tonight for a bit of stress releif / practice. Something clicked when I was studying Golf Mag (or Digest) regarding the swing and truly wished to work on it.

Well, I dropped the hands lower and backed off the ball a little and turned my neck towards the back foot (looking out the left eye). Well the techniques were great and I was creating great contact and even miss hits were moving a decent distance and solid hits were VERY NICE.

My problem: I was slicing a number of however I think that was in my left wrist. The dilemma I'm worried about was I was getting Many ball marks towards the hossel of the club. I'm further away and was worried about being out towards the toe (prior to starting) and I was not hitting there at all.

In case I'm confusing you guys (I'm confusing myself), here is what I did different...

() Backed off the ball.
() Dropped my hands and addressed the ball so so my grip was aimed at my belt (I was more towards the lower/mid abdomin prior to)
() Roated my neck / head so I was looking at the ball from mt left eye at address (spposed to assist rotation).

Ball flights:
Dead Straight with a pretty high launch (not the dilemma)
Slice (moderate to extreme)
Occasional Draw (When I hit well on the course, this seems to happen)
AND ON THE HOSSEL!

*Depending on the freqency of bad shots, I'd gaze at the face and see where the ball marks were. I'd guestimate that of all the bad shots, 75% were on the hossel.

I'm nearly positive the slices were in the left wrist - if you believe different please tell me. I for whatever reason felt I was squaring off at contact.

This was the driver. I did many wedge work to work in the 50-75 yard range and I hit well. No complaints. The little amount of 5-7 Irons went well too.

Short game really does matter..

I'm immediately a firm believer that the short game is quite vital in lowering your index/score. Lately, I have been serious about my game and have had more opportunities than not to convert the up and downs.

I truly realized the importance of this when I am on the green to save par with a makeable par putt. Immediately, this maybe the wrong attitude to have, however except if you're getting the ball close to GIR's I think this part of the game does not truly register yet..however it has for me immediately.

A week ago I found it unbelievably how a lot 2-3 footers putts I ought to've made to save par. I'm able to see this is where I am about to lower my index this year. Does this make sense?

Torque on left ankle?

Hello All,
I'm still a beginner, however seem to hit pretty well at the range. I've been going to the range or to a course three days a week over the previous 2 months. My question is, the last 2 times I hit at the range, under 200 balls every time, afterwards, my left ankle hurts when twisting it. I'm right handed, and am wondering if someone else has experienced this and what can prevent this. Am I making an effort to get too much follow through and am torquing the anle too much. You would think that if this were to happen, it would have when I was setting out. Any assist is appreciated. Thanks.
