What is going on?

I recently got back into the game after an 8 year break. I began playing when I was 13 until about 23. I shot around 15 to 18 when I stopped, so I figured I'd be somewhere around 20 to 25 immediately. I found I even now had the basics of the swing down and had a belief that it would just be a matter of time until I get somewhat consistent shots.

I spent about a fortnight on the driving range (about 100 balls each second day). Up to last Saturday I had the belief that I see continuous improvement in my game and I had the belief that I could soon switch to focusing more on my short game.

Then 2 days ago I went for my last major driving range practice (or so I thought). In the start the balls flew only (or nearly) like I wished them to. Fairly straight and trajectory with the correct height for every club. I was even able to hit my 3 iron with just minimal fade.

Then all of a sudden I entirely lost it. Each ball (and I mean absolutley each ball, not one exception) had a monster slice and often was only sort of hopping around on the ground. No matter what I did, or how slow and controlled I swung all of my balls finished up about 20 to 50 yards infront of me and about 100-150 yards to the right.

I was entirely freaking out. What the hell was going on? I attempted everything I could think off. Half swings, super slow swings, 10 practive swings prior to every shot, etc. etc. I tried a pw, 9 iron, 7 iron, 5 iron. Not a thing helped. All my shots looked like I had never held a golf club in my hand and this was the 1st time in my life I picked one up and tried to hit the ball (very unsucessfully so).

Any idea what was going on with me? The single thing that was different (in my observation) was that it got dark when I stated hitting similar to a duffus.

Where do you focus?

For an extensive period of time I focused on the leading edge of the ball when hitting my irons, however, lately when doing that i've been hitting the ball truly fat. So I altered my focus toward the center of the ball and was hitting it perfect...for one round. Immediately I alternate between fat and thin, and cannot seem to gain myself to commit to a spot for the reason that I'm confused. Needless to say my iron game is suffering immensely.

Thoughts? Advice?

does anybody use "the claw"

I have been messing around with my putting grip, i have been putting crosshanded for an extensive period of time however it's starting to place a qwirk in my back so i have been experimenting with a number of different ones and I was wondering if any one has had much success switching to "the claw" or whatever it's called. And if so what's the proper way to grip the putter in this manner?

thank you

ZEBRA
