Hitting ball on heal

Hey all,

I'm plaqued by the driver Im a 23 handicap and I drive the ball as far as I hit my Hybrid does not make sense and am having a tough time fixing it. One thing that's pretty common is the ball mark on my club face is rarely found on the toe. It is always on the heal side of center and somtimes on an awful day right on the heal. My ball flight with a 9 degree is high and stright or slight fade. I've strenghtend my grip very much that it currently is beginning to hurt my wrists. I know the difficulties however not the way to fix. Steep angle of attack and open club face yet strengthened grip and added tilt to spine angle and yet launcho.

Any suggestions are welcome and thank you!!

Do you get to parallel?

I have always gone somewhere between 3/4 and parallel and not "bothered" to employ the extra wrist cock/shoulder turn necessary to gain to parallel. I am most likely sacrificing a number of yardage however I even now drive it around 275. Anytime I attempt to go parallel I finish up hitting a terrible slice, I think my hands only are not fast enough to release in time from that position.

I think the shorter swing has served me well inside 150yds. (less margin for error) or so however I'm always curious as to what kind of extra yardage I could gain off the tee if I put a number of time into figuring out how to create it work.

Your "Fallback Flaws"

I've three flaws that seem to cycle their way through my game. When I am playing well, I do not have any, however the majority of often I sort of cycle gently from one to the other throughout the year. They have diminished in their intensity lately, so that is great, and knowing what they're has helped me. I'm able to fix things on the course with no needing to actually think of anything mechanical over the ball - I only "realize" which flaw it's and I'm able to self-correct with no getting out of my target focus...

However I call them my "fallback flaws" for the reason that they are the flaws I fall back on if I do not pay attention. My fallback flaws are:
  1. My head changes height throughout my swing. Oftentimes it will go down on the backswing (in a bass-ackwards attempt to gain my hands "higher" above my shoulder) and up in the follow-through, however when I attempt to hit the ball harder sometimes it will go up on the backswing and down through impact. Keeping my head a consistent height is, thus, the solution to this flaw.
  2. My swing gets flat. This has been one of the largest things I have worked on this year. I once would worry about being laid off (shaft pointing left), however this year I am working on swinging a lot lot more up than around, especially amongst longer clubs.
  3. My back is not straight. My last fallback flaw is to obtain a rounded back. Standing up straighter not just helps my swing get more upright (see above) and steer clear of moving my head up and down (above, again), however also to create many more consistent contact.
Most certainly, I check my setup, grip, alignment, etc. regularly, so they never truly have a chance to gain too far out of whack.

Immediately that I have shared mine, I will ask you: what are your "fallback flaws"?
