hitting greens

I read an interesting article on GolfDigest.com (I assume it was in their magazine recently, I just read each other month).
The article was about breaking 80, and they have a chart by Dr. Lucius Riccio (included for the reason that it is a funny name) where Dr. Riccio shows a correlation between your score and your GIR. For example, if you hit 8 GIR, you ought to be shooting 79, all things being equal.

However the thing I truly liked regarding the article were 3 keys to hitting greens:
Grip down an inch
Use a shorter swing
Aim for the center of the green

All of this has been said prior to, and is not true mind-blowing, however I am about to dedicate myself to trying those three things for the following few rounds and see if my GIRs improve. Then I will most likely must locate an editorial on 3 putting.

Here is a link to the article: link

The Impact Zone - Bobby Clampett

I only picked this up last night as I'd a B&N Gift Card from Christmas (as you're able to view I am an avid reader ). I read through a great chunk of the guide and tried out two things to assist enhance my impact with hitting down on the ball with irons.

I was amazed amongst outcomes that I got amongst method that suggests that you ought to draw an invisible line from your hands at the peak of your swing to a point an inch or 2 in front of the ball, and swing your hands towards that point rather than at the ball. I instantly began hitting irons far more crisply and farther than I've for a while.

Overall, I'm very impressed amongst guide, and was wondering if any of you've read through it and what you consider it.

I looked for an additional topic about this guide however could not locate it so if there's one you are able to direct me there.

which would have a greater effect-- a player playing with shafts too stiff for them or with too much flex.

my response was too much flex was better since you are able to slow down your swing speed with accuracy a lot lot more effortlessly than you are able to speed it up. the other 2 guys disagreed.
